Standard Home Inspection

What We Check, Standard Home InspectionDuring our standard home inspection, we will inspect the structure, systems and components of the home, inside and out, from the foundation to the roof, using the latest tools and technology.

We encourage clients to attend home inspections so that we can describe our process, explain our findings, point out important maintenance items, and answer all of your questions.

Accurate Island Inspections LLC, Hawaii home inspectors, adheres to a comprehensive Residential Standards of Practice. This means that we will inspect all of the following, when visible and accessible:

  • Roof
  • Structural Components
  • Attic, Ventilation & Insulation
  • Exterior Cladding
  • Porch & Deck
  • Attached Garage
  • Driveway
  • Foundation
  • Basement/Crawlspace
  • Fireplace
  • Electrical System
  • Plumbing System
  • HVAC System
  • Interior, including:
    • Built-In Appliances
    • Ceilings, Floors & Walls
    • Windows/Glazing
    • Doors

Following our evaluation, we will compile our findings in an easy-to-read report, which will include detailed descriptions and high-resolution digital photos of any issues we’ve discovered during our home inspection services. We will email you your detailed inspection report within 24-48 hours, and our job is not finished until you understand everything in it.  Your report will be accessible online, secured by a login and password.

A standard home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property, performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by these Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector. The scope of work may be modified by the Client and Inspector prior to the inspection process.  The general home inspection is based on the observations made on the date of the inspection, and not a prediction of future conditions. The general home inspection will not reveal every issue that exists or ever could exist, but only those material defects observed on the date of the inspection.  Click for a comprehensive PDF copy of the International Standards of Practice for Performing a General Residential Home Inspection.
